HUD housing assistance

Your Path to Stability Starts Here

At FirstMed Health and Wellness, we’re dedicated to making a positive impact in Southern Nevada. Our commitment extends beyond health care services to addressing the pressing issue of homelessness in our community. In our partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), we are working to make sure everyone has access to safe and stable housing.

Through our participation in the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program, we offer Stability Housing vouchers in partnership with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. Our compassionate case managers and community health workers are here to guide you on your journey toward finding, securing and maintaining housing.

What is the EHV Program?

Through the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program, HUD has provided housing choice vouchers to local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), which can select and partner with Continuums of Care (CoCs) and Victim Service Providers (VSPs) to provide housing care to those in need. As a selected partner of the program, we are equipped to assist individuals and families who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness, are vicitms of domestic violence or assault, or are facing instability or crisis.

Need Homelessness Assistance?

If you or someone you know is experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you may be eligible to receive housing support. For assistance or questions on how you can participate in the Emergency Housing Voucher program, contact a Coordinated Entry Access Point near you.

Coordinated Entry in Southern Nevada matches people experiencing a housing crisis with housing and service options. Click on the link for a full list of sites that offer housing assessments that can help determine what housing resources might be available for you.

The 2022 Homeless Census conducted by Clark County identified 5,645 individuals were residing in shelters or on the streets.

In 2022, an estimated 14,000 people in Clark County experienced homelessness at some point during the year.

Success Stories

Renee | Southern Nevada, 2021

Renee’s experience with homelessness began with the tragedy of her daughter’s leukemia diagnosis. It wasn’t until Renee was required to go to Mental Health Court (MHC) as an alternative to the justice system where she began to seek help and eventually got connected with the EHV program.

With the help of her case manager, Lori, Renee attended her first EHV appointment on July 22, 2021, received her voucher on August 23, 2021 and was placed in a well-maintained unit shortly thereafter.

Kalisha | Southern Nevada, 2021

Kalisha moved from Hawaii to Nevada to find a more stable life for her children after being homeless and living in a tent with her family in 2016. After living in a hotel in early 2021, Kalisha qualified as “homeless” under the Title I HOPE program in Nevada. Kalisha’s family was soon connected to the EHV program and her case worker, MJ, helped her find a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home using her housing voucher. Kalisha and her husband have had steady work since their move and still remain in touch with MJ even though they have exited the program.
