No Show Policy

As it is FirstMed Health and Wellness Center’s goal to ensure that all patients are accommodated in a timely manner and to ensure that patients participate in their care, meet the health care goals, and that barriers of care are addressed, the clinic enforces a No Show Policy.

It is the patient’s responsibility to notify the clinic 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so the time can be offered to another patient waiting to be seen. Every attempt will be made by our staff to contact a patient who missed an appointment and offer help to address his/her barriers to keeping the appointment. When a patient repeatedly misses appointments, he/she will be not be given an appointment, but will be accommodated as a “STAND BY”, which means that he/she may need to wait for the provider to have an opening in the schedule. Expect the “STAND BY” visit to be brief so as not to delay patients who have kept their appointments. Patients will be given every opportunity to earn being given an appointment at the clinic. Please ask to see our Caseworker if you have failed to show for your scheduled appointments.
